Transit of Venus, an exhibition, came out of contemplating the experience of a changing perspective- my personal point of view and place as altered by time. I am also thinking about the changing position and perspective of women in general. The transit of Venus demonstrated that a new perspective becomes available in moments of shift and change, just as scientists used the study of Venus crossing the sun to gain understanding about the size of the solar system. This work draws imagery from any available source- media, art history and imagination- and the investigation goes where it needs to go to continue.
